Founded in 1968, SHANQI Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. (formerly Shandong Crane Factory Co., Ltd.), was a first-class medium-sized state-owned enterprise and the only professional manufacturer of bridge and gantry cranes designated by the former Ministry of Machinery Industry in Shandong Province. In 1989, it was one of the first batch named "National Second-class enterprise". Then it was established as a limited company in 2002, and restructured into a private enterprise in 2005, and changed into a joint-stock company at the end of 2009.
